UGANDA Uganda has seen one of the most effective national responses to the HIV/AIDS pandemic on the African continent. Following the end to the civil war in 1986, the new government created and implemented comprehensive policies that dramatically slowed the rate of new infections. It has been estimated that the HIV prevalence stood at 18.5% in the early 1990s while it declined to 5% in 2002.
According to IMF statistics, in 2004 Uganda's GDP per-capita reached $300, a much higher level than in the Eighties but still at half of Sub-Saharan African average income of 600 dollars per year. Total GDP crossed the 8 billion dollar mark in the same year. CURRENT ACTIONS They currently rent two houses used as homes for the 217 Children in great needs. Past of every single child is different but we want to give to each of them a second chance in life. All the orphanage’s children are going to different schools around …. Presently, we are only able to provide them small quantity of food and pay for their school fees. OUR GOALS To reach out to the un-reached children and giving them a second chance in life: Revive The Children’s Hope Africa can take control of the Children’s future, solve their problems, and rely on itself with the right support. To raise funds to finance our projects: This work involves fund raising for various business projects (ie: create a farm to generate jobs and resources), the Orphanage and its educational team, clothes and food. Fighting poverty, we fund long-term work worldwide and train poor people to sustain to their own needs.
